Ncomputing X550 Windows 7 Driver

Posted : admin On 24.09.2019

Hi All, We've been running the above setup for about a month now with a reasonable amount of success, however I wonder if anyone can shed some light on the following problem. The audio seems to drop out on one if not all stations at random intervals and we end up having to reboot the server to get it back. I have tried running the software the children use in a variety of orders to see if I can spot one particular program doing something nasty, but so far have had no luck. I have the latest VSpace software and Roll Up 1 for Multipoint server I considered adding an additional sound card, and disabling the onboard one but after some research I'm guessing the Audio is all handled virtually and never actually hits the physical audio sub-system. Is this correct?

If not maybe a new sound card could be recommended in-case its a driver crashing or doing something nasty. I am desperate for some help on this one, as the system is basically useless and I'm taking alot of flack from the teachers. So ANY clues or help would be hugely appreciated.

Many thanks in advance, Jus. Hi Jus, If your system is an X350 or X550, NC has identified the root cause for the audio issue and is working on the fix. Please contact NC tech support ( Toll Free: 1-888-365-1210, Direct: 1-530-229-0881) to open a case and be notified as soon as the fix is available (release planned for December, but patch for this issue may be available as early as next week). Regarding the Windows Media Player issue, this has been seen before (especially on large HD videos) and reported to MS. In the meantime, you can use other media players such as Media Player Classic Home Cinema - that do not exhibit this issue. Hi All, An update. This is now happening on 3 seperate systems.

And now 3 angry clients! I've updated to the latest rollup 1.1 which mentions a fix to audio issues but still no joy. They're also getting out of memory errors when opening a file in Media player, wierd since resource monitor shows 3.6GB of free RAM. The teachers are more than frustrated as their classes totally rely on audio and they can't do their job, which is difficult enough as they are a special needs school.

I'm a great advocate in this concept, but if we can't get reliability it damages all our reputations! I have 5 new immediate projects where this could be deployed, but will have to recommend alternative solutions until these three existing clients are satisifed.

Would it be worth trying to add a USB Audio Adapter and then trying to map audio to that, this would eliminate the potential of a problem in the Virtual Audio Driver as it would not be in use. Any advice on getting more help much appreciated.

In the meantime, you can use other media players such as Media Player Classic Home Cinema - that do not exhibit this issue. NComputing setup has problem with delivering audio to all its nodes missing few or all of them randomly and once you restart the host machine, it gets fixed. NComputing also has confirmed issues with Logitech and Acer keyboards that start misbehaving randomly or regularly.
